Post Contemporary Artist Justin Allen was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1987. From the age of 14 to 18, he worked at a top Industrial Design firm in Thousand Oaks, CA. He studied Film at Columbia College of Hollywood & Studied in a variety of Media & Entertainment degree programs at Full Sail University in Florida without earning a degree. While studying in Florida, Justin spent more time at Disney World than he did in class. Justin was obsessed with learning about Walt, the man who developed the process of making dreams come true, and also spent much time reverse engineering attractions, art, story & processes present within the Disney Empire. J. Allen strategically held two jobs in Florida, 1st as an intern to an interactive advertising company specializing in projection based window displays. And 2nd in art sales, selling framed art door to door with a group of youngsters traveling from Florida to Georgia & South Carolina. J. Allen considers himself a "Multiple Dropout" who was never driven to learn for the sake of a degree. He is always surrounded by a stack of book and is currently focused on training to be ambidextrous. Not bound to any particular medium, J. Allen has found an interest in the use and mixture of any form of media. Use of traditional one-of-a-kind prints & paint can be seen along side sculptures made of cash, interactive works, projection environments, and more innovative forms of medium. Integrating drops of his own blood into final art works has become seal of approval on any piece he wishes to call his own along with the hand signed insignia "The #J". J. Allen is an emerging post contemporary artist with innate ability to produce major exhibitions and experience unlike anything seen before.
