View In My Room
This is a photograph of me and my dog meeting inside a cardboard box, which has written in the front, Mind Mender. It can be seen as me seeking therapy from my dog, or even me visiting a confessional booth. The drawings and text, which was written upside to express a less inhibited state, are childlike and haunting and represent our inner landscape or inner child. During the creation of this work, I was inspired by Basquiat, photographer Roger Ballen and painter Robert Nava for their raw sensibilities in their individualistic ways.
