I studied among others, film. In 2007, after having relevant knowledge of the audiovisual, I applied for a post-graduate degree at celebrated art center Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France; and quit film school. The prestige of the institution finally led me to my first exhibitions. I presented Mise en Abîme, Ouverture, and White Noise in 2 main exhibitions; involvig Jean-Marie Strub, André S. Labarthe, Yann Kersalé , Eduardo Kac, and other historical figures of the art world. After completing the degree, my works were shown in various european biennales and film festivals. I produced a number of audiovisual works in France, Spain and England, before establishing myself back in Mexico City. In 2010, I started producing art works independently. As a constant, I have been revisiting my handcrafted video, the video stock daily captured troughout my life; and releasing those pieces accordingly. Mi Novia es la Vida y hacemos el Amor en la Tierra ( Mi girlfriend is life, and we make love on earth) is an ever changing work. Never to be completed. Open ended forever… It is a compilation of personal videos, and an evergrowing personal archive of my life. Villa Cisneros was shot in the Sahara Desert (refugee camps in Tindouf, Algeria, and mine fields) in winter 2013. The Western Sahar has been fighting for a recognition upon the Un since 1979, where the colony was abandoned by Spain. Of course monetary interests are involved; thus getting the people divided into refugees and their families living in the occupied territories. Whiile the Saharaui cause may seem as a utopical one, it is legitimate to keep on standing, through a non-violent resistance. It has 2 ways of showing: the complete theatre experience, and an 8 channel video instalation. Collision between recovered information, read by an automatic robot voice over and other complex historiographical devices are used. Discoursive subject is virtual. Credibilityof the information at its most, but still I am deliberately lying. My work has always been very academic, non only focusing on aesthetics, theater ,and art history; but also in many other science and knowledge discipines, such as anthropology, history, geography, sociology. I am very interested in archives, useless knowledge, and the collection of vast amounts of data like my ever growing Cacopaedia.
