Concept.The material installation is the smell of money, it is representation of the sign according to the theory of French sociologist Jean Baudrillard: it is a simulacrum that replaces the real object by hint at it. Aroma currency acts like a semiotic sign of the status quo in capitalist post-industrial world. Description of project.Installation Moneyfesto, unlike previous collaborations of Krolikowski Art and Herbert Rometch, is not a visual representation. The bottom line is that the visitor will feel the smell of money, that is physically not present. Metaphor sends to the philosophy and spirit of the perception of the consumer society. As Jean Baudrillard says, consumption is a simulacrum of happiness, the endless pursuit of that which are not exist in the reality. The world that focused on financial success, closed in a circle of illusions, because the money itself, bills and accounts are just semiotic signs of the true value, meaningless in themselves and out of context. The smell of money it is a double symbolic substitution: wanting to get something of value, a person tends to material well-being, but instead gets only smell, only the money trail which impossible to see and take with them. Moneyfesto - the boundary between the real and the imaginary world, it is the declaration about illusion of discourse of domination of the material over the spirit. That is why the material of this installation is the flavor of dollars dissolved into thin air and not visible in the material world.
