Morning Glory (Hawaiian: Pohuehue) is a native plant to the Hawaiian Islands, commonly found on sandy beaches. The ancient Hawaiians used the vine as rope, and also to make lei. This scene focuses not only on the morning glory plant, but also the early morning scene of Waimanalo Beach, which is often considered one of Oahu's finest. A few early risers in the distance enjoy the beach. Manana (Rabbit Island) can be seen in the background. Rob Kajiwara is a native Ryukyuan / Hawaiian. He signs his Hawaiiana artwork with his Hawaiian name, Lopaka.
