The Shinju III from our series of works inspired by Kinbaku Shibari, the ancient Japanese art of immobilizing and decorating the body with rope. Shibari is a form of visual art that consists of creating aesthetic bonds. But Shibari enriched with Kinbaku means building an emotional scene, creating a sculpture out of the body, ropes and sensual tension between the bound and the binding person. Kinbaku signifies the intimate union of minds, bodies and souls, a pleasure for psyche and soma. The unique erotic energy between lovers also makes the beauty of the artistic bindings pleasing to the eyes and souls of those watching this unique performance. Shinju in Japanese translates as "pearl." It is a charming, euphemistic term for a woman's breasts or nipple. In Shibari, Shinju is used as a name for breast bondage. Our know-how guarantees an original and unique style. The innovative technique of colorful, photorealistic thread art has nothing to do with classical painting and it's still very little known. Worldwide, there are only a few artists who manage to create this type of work. The thread paintings are made ONLY with thread in different colors/types/thicknesses. Exclusively the thread is responsible for creating the entire picture, nothing is painted underneath!

The Vistulart project was formed to create a series of collaborative works we had in our minds from a long time. There are two of us, Dariusz Plutecki and Dagmara Świrska, a scientific mind and a humanist. We’re both self-taught artists based in Warsaw, Poland. We’re working together as the new media art duo and it is not a secret we’re also a couple in private live. Our passionate pursuit of art was one of the things that brought us to each other over 15 years ago and got us where we’re now. We like to call ourselves a thread painters. In other words, we create artworks using nothing else but miles of a fine sewing thread in different colors, types and thicknesses. Apart from a wooden board and a few hundred steel nails, it is the threads that are our paramount medium we create the entire picture with. We work on the basis of our own technique, that has nothing to do with the classical painting technique. The threads are our sole paints, there is absolutely nothing put on the threads or underneath. Our adventure with this technique has started about three years ago, with pandemic time. Lockouts and all the stay-at-home orders turned out an opportunity for us. We have started a new chapter in our life, focusing on living for a passion. Dariusz spent long months creating a proprietary techniques and finally he got us our own working tools & methods. The complete know-how. Then it took some more months to consider we’re ready to lay our artworks before the public… Anyway, as we like challenges and constantly raise the bar higher and higher for ourselves, I believe we’re getting more proficient at what we do with each alternate artwork. We’re trying to explore new areas, being innovative by looking for new subjects no one has tried before in this technique. The main dominant motif in our works is the beauty of a human being. We’re constantly searching for an inspiration, oscillating around the issue of human condition. We also keep on developing new collaborations and planning some future exhibits. Currently, we have an ongoing partnership with two significant art galleries from Warsaw, which - especially as artists without art studies - we are proud of: ?id_artist=643 We hope that our art will evoke pleasant emotions so that people can enjoy our paint-free paintings as much as we enjoy creating them. Peace! D&D About us: .html .html
