About The Artwork
This is an upclose rendering of a fallen pinecone, painted in complementary colors. I was inspired by classic fall colors, reflecting the fading colors of the previous season in the background. I chose watercolor for its malleability. I could easily move and fade the colors on the canvas. The orange popped against the brown background, and dabbing the brush as i processed the work allowed the texture of the material to come through.
