Red Squirrel Artwork

Inspiration certainly comes from Gjon Mili, Picasso, Étienne-Jules Marey and Georges Demeny. Made by using a unique combination of long exposure light painting photography (from a DSLR) and digital art techniques. The resulting artwork is fairly abstract, but has some form too (in the shape of a red squirrel). The light painting element in this case has been inverted. I have made the squirrel look like the creature has been hitting the gym, it certainly is in beast mode. I choose light painting as a base for my digital artwork so there is a tactile element involved in it's creation. The results are more vibrant too, compared with many artworks that have standard digital beginnings. The inversion of the light painting gives the artwork a high key quality and, as usual, there is a sense of humour. This art would likely suit fans of science fiction, the macabre or fantasy.
