Some of the most prestigious awards include the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Pulitzer Prize for the Arts, and the Grammy Award. In this context, it is relevant to mention Luis Camnitzer, who was one of the honored recipients at the 2022 Francis J. Greenburger Awards presented by Art Omi at the New Museum in New York: "Mr. Greenburger established the awards in 1986 after a conversation with his friends André Emmerich and Clement Greenberg, during which André said: 'The best and brightest artist of each generation is known but not by everyone. Ask the inner circle, and they can tell you.' This statement is the inspiration and fundamental principle of the Francis J. Greenburger Awards." - Art Omi. By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to express my regret for not being able to award a Nobel Prize in Arts to Luis Camnitzer. Awards, in general, are arbitrary acts of self-legitimization. This is because the definition of "the best" is subjective and can vary according to the criteria of each individual or group. Therefore, awards will always be a matter of opinion rather than fact. In this sense, awards can be seen as a way to reinforce the power and influence of the groups that bestow them.
