About The Artwork

Then the evil genie transformed the little aubergine into a flying carpet. I still continue to be haunted by what I read in an article on the refugees or the immigrants from Africa fleeing their war torn and ravaged countries to save their lives and of their loved ones. The writer without any form of literal shame had forgotten that these people too were human beings and had referred to them as lifeless vegetables and because of the colour of their skins as many aubergines. These people in their long journey to find a safe haven had to go through the most severe hardship facing the extreme dangers on the seas and the greedy illegal passers who stole all their money under false pretext. So one day I had a little dream in which I became the big evil genie from the Arabian tales of a Thousand and one nights and had a magic wand with which I was able to transform all these little aubergines into flying carpets so that they could safely fly to their new homes.

Born 1954 India Now have my art studio in Angers in France.Have been painting and etching for more than 25 years. My inspiration comes from my working experience with S.W.Hayter and other contemperory artists like Krishna Reddy. Now do mainly digital works like painting and printmaking. For this I have developed a new form of new media prints using digitalized technique and maroufled onto a heavy art paper of at least 300 gms. After the transfer by marouflage of the printed onto the heavy art paper it is once again worked on by the artist to obtain the art effect and printed in a limited edition of 8 prints + 1 artist's proof, with signature and number. The paintings also are digital works on art paper that has been maroufled onto a canvas that is signed by me. All work is done by me in my personal art studio in Angers in France. The work is mostly inspired from my ramblings in the countryside and the sensation or feelings thus produced which I try to share with the spectators of my works.
