The Uninvited Guest Oil on A3 Sized Canvas Sheet Available for Sale This is one of my childhood memories that I have painted today. Me and my siblings were discussing about bari eids we spent these past years and I recalled this scene and told it to my siblings that got em all goosebumpy lol I was probably in grade 4 when I went into the kitchen of our flat. In apartments usually the animals are slaughtered on the ground floor in a collective sacrifice or on the roads and the butcher and his team send all the spare parts of the animal to the owners living in the flat. We used to live on the first floor and here was me strolling in the corridor of my home and went to the kitchen and there I found the head of the Bakra in front of me on the counter. I have never seen or witnessed it live and I avoid it as much as I can but it wasn’t a lucky day for me haha and my young version of mom gave me a mini heart attack and a ptsd when later I enjoyed fried mutton chopsticks with ketchup made by her in an air conditioned room with my baba watching tv 🥳😅 Well, this painting was the best outlet to let it go 😎 So from the dark memories of my head, Here’s The Uninvited Guest 🐐😎💕 Also, I took inspiration of this work from ‘Salome bearing the head of St. John The Baptist (Hazrat Yahya Alahis Salat o Wassalam) created by the Artist Guido Reni (1575-1642) 🎨 All Copyrights are reserved by the Artist Mariam Sattar Kurd @ palette.in.my.hand (Instagram)
