About The Artwork
I was always fascinated by the sea. The waves' eternal movement gives me energy and a positive approach towards my life and my art. I was drawn into the 2019 fantastic film "Aquarela" by director Viktor Kossakovsky. Inspired by some of the frames taken using my iPhone, I've created a personal, virtual transition between the film, the emotions, and the creation itself as they appeared on the computer screen. The images were digitally edited, then transferred to the media of drawing. Using crayons and Acrylic paint, I've added a personal handprint to the creation. The artworks represent our virtual world, in which we experience nature via virtual screens and phones. The choice of using digitally digested photos instead of taking live images of the beach near my home symbolizes our reality of experiencing most of our life digitally. We miss some of the experience and use our inner dialogue to make up for it virtually. Alisa Sheinson

Alisa is the owner of a multi-disciplinary art studio in Hertzliya, Israel. Here's what she said regarding her light-art: Light, for me, is like a magic wand that vitalizes all matter. Light fights darkness and defines knowledge, awareness, and memory by its reflection. As light touches shapes, they are defined by it. I inspire to reveal our hidden memories and thoughts by using the same magical method. I'm a Tel-Aviv-based designer and light-artist. I draw my inspiration from nature and focus on preserving its extinct pieces, encapsulating them by combining light and resin molding as mediums. Combining various mediums, such as photography, painting, molding, and 3D printing, allows me to imitate the impact and boundlessness of light and create an experience in which the light is at the stage center. Each of us has memories and feelings that exist hidden inside us. I aspire to trigger those feelings and memories by providing an individual experience using my art.
