About The Artwork

This digital drawing is a recreation of a chalk pastel drawing I made in 2015. It is based on the b.r.a.v.i.n.g. acronym by Brené Brown. The acronym breaks down the components that help to define trust, and understand the mechanics of it. Braving stands for: Boundaries, Reliability, Accountability, Vault, Integrity, Non-Judgement, Generosity. If you google her Super Soul Sessions Talk (The Anatomy of Trust) you can learn more. I imagined that going on an inner journey to cultivate self-worth and self-trust must be like heading out into the desert. Also the prophet Mohammad came to mind, who was known as Al-Amin 'the trustworthy'. This made the desert scenery even more fitting.

Living in the Netherlands with my two young children, I come from a very mixed background (Jordanian dad and Dutch/German mum). I grew up in Germany and the Netherlands and have lived in the UK for 6 years. I've established myself as an artist since 2016 and as an illustrator since 2017 with my registered business Isabella El-Hasan Art & Illustration.
