About The Artwork

Tick Tock was prompted by a visit to the Britsh Museum. Just after visiting the Clock section I noticed that the sounds of the clocks ticking were similar to the sounds of people’s shoes on the stone floor. Tick Tock shows video footage of people walking in public places. The footage is arranged so that the direction of travel is at first upwards, then moves round to the right, then down, then left, then back up again – as though they were pointers on a clock. The piece lasts exactly one minute. Sounds of clocks ticking have been used as the soundtrack and were mixed and chosen to match the people who are walking.
