About The Artwork
As part of the art collective, Native Immigrant (www.nativeimmigrant.com), I had the great fortune to travel with founding members Agata and Carolina to the Lake Region of Chile, and the University of Valdivia. There, we continued the dress-building project that we had begun in San Andres Cheuque (see Lensculture - Judith Brisson) with art students giving there testimonials about what their personal "Visions of Peace" are to each of them. The students each brought an object of sentimental or symbolic value and a story, to be affixed to the dress, in the real world and on film. Native immigrant will be completing a series of films on these dresses in 2021 - 2022. In this image, we see Agata explaining the developemnt of the dress concept to the participating students.
