The series was born from the need to expose a personal identity contradiction in the artistic space: the one between my identity as an artist, so far more potential than actually recognised, and the one as a precarious worker. Just as the figure I embody is ambivalent, the perspective I propose in the works is dual: the internal one of the worker and that of the artist as observer. The digital language I developed is, at the same time: photographic, to underline the authenticity of the visual anecdotes told, and pictorial, to convey the lived working experience in a subjective key. The presence of some recurring stylistic features - the barriers, the gray of the working environments, the objectifying stylization of the faces, or the double self-portrait as first-person narrating subject and depicted subject - aim to create an alienating atmosphere of dissociation and alienation. Letting the desire of escape from constricting realities foreign to my identity shine through, and the mirroring need to sublimate this existential condition in art. - The work is not yet printed, I will produce a fine art lightbox once it will purchase

My twenty-year research is aimed at codifying a sort of synthetic digital painting in which various techniques of representation and manipulation of reality converge: from the most automated such as photography and graphics programs, to the most autographic such as drawing and painting. This hybrid approach also leads me to maintain the balance between the need to imprint my personality on the digital work and the respect for the standardization of shapes and colors implicitly operated by the tools used to create it. This is why the faces of a 3D wireframe are created manually using programs designed for 2D, while the digital signs - hatched directly on the screen - become perfect segments, instead of imitating human imprecision. The role that this creative method has in my life is not dissimilar to what painting could have for a painter or photography for a photographer: a tool for appropriating the reality that surrounds us, expressing, at the same time, our own existential condition and our point of view on the world.
