The traditional symbol of orthopedics is the bent tree that has been braced to make it grow upward and straight. A digital collaboration with Tony Dungan, with the magnification, addition and subtraction of shapes and colors with orthopedic implants. This piece is a combination of various porous surfaces of the acetabular (the cup) component used in hip replacement. Bone grows on to the surface of the implant providing biological fixation. Nitin Banwar is a recently retired orthopedic reconstructive surgeon.
