About The Artwork
Red Wall with Boot abstract is my stylistic representation of power left unchecked. I'd been thinking about power. All kinds of it from governments to personal power and the differences between power and empowerment. I decided to create an abstract painting with this in mind. The following quote kept running through my mind as I got deeper into this piece and became my mantra "Even the wise become unwise in the enchanted chambers of power" Which was a reminder for me how easily one can lose their way when they seek only power without empowerment. "Even the wise become as the unwise in the enchanted chambers of Power, whose lamps make every face of the same color." WALTER SAVAGE LANDOR, "Imaginary Conversations" was my inspiration for this work.
