About The Artwork

The work recalls the USA's now phased out Homeland Security Advisory System, a colour coded terrorism threat advisory scale where different levels trigger specific actions. Each colour is applied to the cover of Survivor's 1982 No 1 single Eye of the Tiger. The song Eye of the Tiger was written only after Sylvester Stallone was unable to get permission to use Queen's Another One Bites the Dust as the theme song for the movie Rocky III. The instantly recognisable pounding of the track Eye of the Tiger is universally accepted, whether loved or loathed, as an anthem of the underdog striving to rebuild and win against all the odds. The Survivor series warns against the current fear of terrorism and the more real danger of global warming.
