This artwork originates from a cycle of literature illustrations. Reading books inspires me interpreting architectural situations. Utopia is a constant topic in my work. All these situations do not really exist and they never really existed. So they stay utopic and in some way nonexistent. "The slightly greenish tint of the glass-like substance which surrounded him on every hand obscured what lay behind, but he perceived it was a vast apartment of splendid appearance, ..." - H. G. Wells (1899): When the Sleeper Wakes For digital 3D artwork I always prefer to use open-source 3D software packages such as Blender. I am not interested in photorealistic renderings. The computer is a closed determined system having its own rules. It can do much more than just imitate reality. My digital artworks should never seize to explore the possibilities and the sudden surprise working with 3D software. So I do not force a specific design and experiment with the digital tool, even mis-using it. This digital artwork was first published in the catalogue [uˈtɔpɔs] ou-topos | οὐ-τόπος (2016) - a catalogue for an exhibition that never happened . Book publication (German Edition). The artwork is as a high quality digital print on photo paper. It originates from an original analogue black and white photography. It is hand signed and dated by me on the back.
