Germany
Christian Rietz was born in 1983 in Belzig, Germany. He grew up observing the world around him, trained as a publisher, studied business and communication, and worked both as an entrepreneur and as an employee. Since 2023 he has been fully dedicated to painting. As a self-taught painter, he carries on observing, researching and exploring the world. He practises concentrating on the essentials, distinguishing the important from the unimportant and not taking himself too seriously in the process. In a mixture of rationality and intuition, his works move between an objective approach to the materials on the one hand and the question of the pictorial effect on the other. He is particularly interested in the process of painting, in exploring the relationships between the constituent elements: Material, space and light.
