About The Artwork

This work was born after going to the cinema with my girlfriend. We got out of a cinema in the Belgrano district in Buenos Aires (the neighbourhood I was born in) and saw this building entrance... The image was perfect, and I had been flirting with the idea of painting a building entrance... There is something about building entrances that captivates me... specially at night... there is some sense of preview of home and comfort that awaits after that space is crossed. And it also connects me with the feeling of waiting for someone to open you to a new experience, sort of butterfly feeling in the gut, this can be because you are waiting for a date with someone you barely know or just waiting for some "illegal" stuff....the spectrum is wide ranged.... But that quietness and almost complete staticity, combined with a rather not fashionable but cared-up-to-the-detail neatness create an atmosphere pretty interesting... The horizontal white line breaking through the space, just happened, no explanation for that.... Someday maybe I get the meaning...

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Started my journey in art attending to painting classes since I was 9 and never stopped from then. Although the path has been rocky many times, making art for me is a lighthouse that shines a light over my life and helps me try to understand where I am and where I am going. And if by chance I get to discover any answer or clue by doing my practice, not only it helps myself but it may also those who get in touch with my work and can resonate with its message. Messages that are not premeditated. Just felt in my heart and humbly transmitted. No mental concepts to call for assisted reflections. I think of my work as an opportunity to delve into a groove that transcends my existence. To navigate through it and be at the disposal of the unexpected, of the unknown, of everything that was, is and will be. A furrow of exploration of what surrounds me, of the visible and the invisible. The process, the experience and the uncertainty above the mental concept, above reaching a certain destination. And in the transit of experience, the findings. Findings that many times even transcend my ability to understand. Registered in each brushstroke, in each gesture, in each choice.
