ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Inspired by my previous WTF 2020 USA flag piece... I started a mini flag series representative of that country and it's a reflection of that year. This work is done with similar techniques using mostly spray paint and some acrylic for lettering. 2021 was also a weird year... a year of loss, continued lockdowns, covid, dumpster fires, and more chaos. The Arabic script translates to WTF in English... the ending of the US' occupation in Afghanistan didn't go so smooth! There was a lot of death and bloodshed and destruction and chaos... so what the actual fuck? Right?

the past is the past and i'm evolving every moment... i've experienced a lot in my short life and some of it i'm not so proud of, however i learned so much along the way and i wouldn't be telling you about me without it all ;) tbh i didn't know who the f*ck i was until 2020 and i learn new things about myself every single moment :) a lot of my artwork is incredibly emotional and it also still feels vulnerable in a sense. it's incredibly important to me because there's so much there to unwrap. in short, i've struggled with sexuality since forever ago and was a misprogrammed catholic boy who also struggled to find spirituality or faith in anything so it was a constant struggle in figuring out who i was and then constant thinking that i had to come to terms with my sexuality + announce it to the world. today, i see sexuality as fluid just like everything else in life... nothing is constant... loving myself has made me really comfortable today though... duh, i wish it was that easy tho hehehe... i am going to briefly touch on the past, but i don't live in it anymore so it'll be brief :) ooo... let me introduce myself before this ramble ;) my name is timmy wozniak and i am a creator :) -i was born and raised in a catholic family in saint paul, minnesota and have two brothers (one older + one younger) and a younger sister -both of my parents are still living, however divorced... -bounced between los angeles, california and denver and minnesota for a few years as well -in 2015 in the height of my opiate addiction, i royally f*cked up and emotionally and financially hurt a lot of people around me who loved me in a lot of ways and it was not intentional by any means + i was so lost + gone at the time to even realize :( + i spent time in jail in Denver in 2017 because of it + the state calls me a felon (if you're reading this + are one of those who are affected... i love you + i'm sorry + i miss you + send positive energy your way) -while in minnesota in 2018 + 2019, i designed and opened a hybrid retail sneaker + streetwear store + music/gaming/pop-up/event/live art venue -currently and since 2020, i've been living in los angeles -i have a lot of artistic influences...
