A Bowl of Happy Days is on of the paintings in Angela's botanical series of flowers in vases. She takes to the canvas with a loose and free approach abstracting the flowers by layering shapes of color until she achieves the desired result. The scale of the work as well as the colors which she uses lends itself to create an evocative response. She would like this response to provoke introspection within the viewer. For Angela this subject conjures up happy and sad memories as flowers are given as symbols of thanks, happiness and solace. They remind us of nature’s abundance and in essence the events of a richly layered tapestry of one’s life. A Bowl of Happy Days, is exactly that, a bright happy array of abstracted blooms. Please note this is a diptych. It has been painted on 2 Masterart Professional Canvases, 40 x 30 inch x 2

Angela’s purpose for creating art is much more than simply filling gaps on walls with pretty pictures. It's complex. To begin to unravel it, we must look deeper into her process and how it began. She took art as a subject at school, but it wasn't the time spent learning to draw which created the artist. It was the secret moments where she felt she could be free to unleash her raw emotions through paint, which kept her coming back to create. She found that these moments silenced her mind, the brushstrokes reflected her emotions, the subjects her own experiences, memories and desires. And from this state a deeper connection to herself and her inner joy was created. It was fun and it empowered her. For you, the viewer, it is Angela's intention that her work does the same. She paints familiar subjects to quieten your thoughts, evoke your emotions which has the power to conjure up memories linked to your unique experiences or desires. Whichever the case this deep reflective quality leads you to a greater understanding of self. The things you like, love and potentially the things you need….or maybe simply just to spark your own sense of fun! Hence Angela’s purpose for creating art is much more than simply filling gaps on walls with pretty pictures.
