I tried to create moments in this painting. A trinity of areas on the canvas that individually move and also create a journey for the eye. This piece is part of a series i did on flowers examining their strength and power along with vulnerability.

Cristina Silvestri b. 1984 is an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. Cristina is first generation American and spent much of her life in Italy where her family still lives. In 2006 Cristina moved to Florence, Italy to pursue art and be closer to family. She returned to Chicago in 2008 and has continued her art practice. Although she is primarily a painter, she is interested in creating dimension and pushing the borders and frames of painting.
