ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I saw this tree in Japan, in the winter and was so impressed with the dance like quality of its form. The graceful contours of the trunk's extending arms and the unusual, interesting, contorted base just begged to become a painting. I photographed it to take back to my studio in the U.S.A. so I could bring it into another form of life. I hope viewers will feel the same sensations of calm, quiet, serene elegance when they look at it, as I do.
