About The Artwork
A peaceful and uplifting landscape painting. This free flowing and expressive oil painting was begun en plein air in the fields of mid Wales. Due to the chilly morning, it was completed in my studio! Fresh green fields in the foreground, give way to a swathe of trees, sweeping across the hills. Your eye is carried into the mid-ground and the receding landscape, depicting the a warm pink glow of the morning sun, spreading it's light over the hill tops. Cool blues and pale grey illustrate the far distance, with a soft, gentle sky holding the morning light above. Strung and ready to hang. Painted in Michael Harding Professional Artist's oil paint, on stretched canvas (edges painted pink, please see addition photograph). This artwork is signed and dated on the rear and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Artwork will be carefully wrapped for shipping in a layer of tissue paper, foam board and (recycled/recyclable) bubble wrap, then placed in a sturdy cardboard box.

Lizzie Butler is an expressive, semi abstract artist, who works in a contemporary style in oil. Her strong spatial awareness and a passion for working en plein air, inform her practice and lead to paintings that recreate the intangible atmosphere found in landscapes and the peaceful silence of nature. Most of her paintings are begun outside and completed in her London studio. Although working primarily in oil, Lizzie also enjoys the physicality of exploring etching with zinc and steel plates, to create intaglio prints. Lizzie Butler's artwork has been exhibited at Leighton House Museum, Kensington, London, The Russell Gallery, London, and several other Galleries. Lizzie's paintings can be found in collections in America, New Zealand, the UK and across Europe, with several customers returning to buy further paintings and place commissions. March 2019 - Two pieces shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition.
