this work is inspired by an african cultural matter known as dowry which is the payment of bride price in the form of livestock or in some cases cash by the groom to the family of the bride.I want the viewer to start a conversation about this issue in relation to its purpose in old times and as of its purpose in current times.does it still have meaning,has it become a tolol for extortion by the bride family.I believe this is an important conversation.i use a mix of figuration and surrealism to make bare my message but also to express its complicated nature.
