The timeless tale of Penelope , to me this figure stands in quiet contemplation, embodying the essence of patience and endurance. Beside her, the vase of flowers, a symbol of hope and fidelity, echoing Penelope's unwavering devotion to her absent husband, and the belief deep in her heart that the end has not been written yet. Each colour pattern of her tapestry speaks of the passage of time, as she awaits the return of her beloved Odysseus, weaving and unraveling her tapestry with steadfast determination. It’s a timeless tribute to the enduring power of hope and love in the face of adversity.

Ellie Lasthiotaki is a Greek artist, currently based in Singapore. Her work is inspired by lines and fragments of Gaia and the exquisiteness of life, hence, considered as visual poetry, externalizing her personal choice to see the beauty, passion and empathy of the world we live in. Ellie is employing scribbling and abstraction along with a wide spectrum of media, which has made her painterly style recognisable in the art scene, as a vehicle to transfer herself and the viewer to places where magic happens. She is utilizing Nature, being the eternal link between humans and earth, as the driving force to create a visual spiritual narrative of positivity where the horizon kisses the waves, the waves reciprocate the kiss, the trees are hugging dancing queens, while the glowing rays of the sun are dispersed on all beings on earth. Her work is an honest attempt to humbly try to suppress the bellicose selves and instead reconnect with the inner selves from visual stimulation. Bringing forward the emotions, the sensations and perceptions of what we see in order to affect the mindset in a way that it activates positive shifts to the chemical and neural circuits of the brain. The artworks embody her intuitive need, in her own visual language, to capture emotions, space and this feeling of ethereality where everything is possible in a contemporary context, hoping people can relate to the artwork and in essence be moved and enchanted by the magic of art. Ellie has had 5 solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions. She has participated in art fairs and she has ardent collectors all around the world. She has permanent gallery representation in Singapore , Europe and US. She has been twice finalist at Taipei Art Competition and she has been featured in magazines and catalogs. In 2023, she has been featured in the the National Gallery Benefit Auction 2023 , organised by Philipsauctionhouse. Through her studies she had had the chance to get familiar with the works of the masters from the classical and byzantine era to renaissance and modern times. While studying History of Art she felt she had found her call in life. Painting came to her life unexpectedly but it was love at first sight .Many of her works are attune with moments in nature and her childhood experiences in the island of Crete, the beautiful light of the mesmerising sun, the heavenly beaches, the gold of the byzantine iconography.
