"AB Lifeguard Station" is a captivating piece that brings the Atlantic Beach lifeguard station to life at the serene hour of sunset. The dimensions of the piece, 30x15 inches, provide a vertically expansive view that draws the viewer into the scene. Crafted with acrylic on stretched canvas, this artwork uses the medium's vibrant potential to evoke the stunning glow of twilight that bathes the eastern sky in rich, lustrous hues. This tranquil yet dynamic scene is further animated by the presence of a surfer on a bicycle, immersing themselves in the seaside atmosphere as they evaluate the day's surf. What sets this artwork apart is its distinctive color palette, meticulously chosen to enhance the ethereal beauty of the beach at dusk. A unique blend of colors transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, offering a fresh perspective on a beloved coastal landscape. The inspiration for the piece came from a friend's photograph, which the artist has reimagined, infusing it with a personal touch and creative ingenuity to truly make it their own. This artwork captures not just a place and time but the vivid emotions and fleeting moments that make such experiences unforgettable.

“As an artist, I strive to continually grow and experiment with different techniques and mediums. I have spent most of my careers as an art director and graphic designer (30 years), professional photographer (15 years) and for the last decade, painter. Composition, creative problem solving and working with deadlines became ingrained after three decades as a designer. I hold a BS degree in fine & applied arts from San Diego State University. Having these experiences have affected how my photographic images are framed in the camera and on canvas, my understanding of light on objects from directing studio photographers and exploring the possibilities of artistic post production. I find that tinting, adding layers & borders, and digital painting made a unique statement. In my paintings now, the wealth of experiences have shaped how I approach a canvas and work through the stages of analyzing, experimenting, and creating . The challenges of painting have given me a passion about creating that I intend to continue as long as I can. Sailing and exploring the ocean was a big part of my early years in California. Hence, most of my paintings are related to ocean and beach landscapes. My seascapes, tropical scenes, underwater landscapes, mermaids, and abstract paintings are directly the result from my love of the sea. In my freestanding art studio at home, I listen to music, study and work on my canvases without technology interferring. It is a very joyful place where I am free to create from my imagination and also a good diversion from the technology of my photographic business. I feel so fortunate to be making a living doing what I love. ”
