There are a lot of different ways to create an abstract painting. You might want to start with a specific color and build your painting from there. Or, you might just want to paint with watercolor colors and see where the paint takes you. Whatever type of abstract paintings you decide to make, there is a simple way to create them. Step 1: Start by adding colors onto your palette in any order that you want. Keep in mind that if you're going for more of an abstract painting, the colors should be mixed together more than they would be if you were making a realistic painting. For example, if you wanted a less realistic-looking painting, then the colors should be mixed together so the resulting image looks like it was created by nature rather than manmade objects. Step 2: Take your chosen colors and mix them together on your palette until they fit well together as one color. Make sure that none of the colors are overlapping one another or touching one another's edges, as this will cause conflicts within the image later on during the painting process.

American artist Jacob Farkas was born in Brooklyn, into a family with a history of painting and fell in love with watercolors at the age of 10. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at The City University of New York, where he received his BFA degree. His award-winning paintings have been included in numerous juried and gallery exhibitions, and they hang in private and corporate collections throughout the country, as well as overseas. Jacob Farkas divides his time between painting indoors (in his studio) and outdoors (on location). Jacob Farkas is a unique painter who has developed his own distinct painting style that is instantly recognizable. His watercolors are full of luminous color, rich shadows, and beautifully drawn shapes. He uses meticulous attention to composition to craft paintings that are descriptive and yet expressive, realistic and yet abstract.
