About The Artwork
Above the Clouds speaks to being really really really high on life. It is inspired by the Thundercat featuring Wiz Khalifa song “Drink Dat” from his 2017 album “Drunk”. Up past the clouds and can’t come down is the whole vibe of this painting. I hope the viewer can appreciate the perspective of walking amongst the trees and being above the clouds at the same time. I rarely work in oil because of the length of drying time but decided to return to by roots on this painting using them in an abstracted subject matter rather than figurative.
