Absent Mind Painting

As a child I often found myself staring into objects; my thoughts elsewhere. As I grew I found myself staring at people, imagining their stories. Imagining their lives that are just as complex and intricate as my own. One day, while I was at a farmer's market I saw a boy sitting on the ground in an over-sized white t-shirt staring at a bouquet of flowers. Whether he was admiring the beauty of the pink blooms or if his mind journeyed to other places, I do not know. But this is what I imagined his mind to look like. For a moment, it was just him and the flowers, nothing else. I chose to paint this picture with acrylics, for that is what we first start out with as children. However, I chose to paint as if I was using oils. Acrylic paint does not blend the oil does. Neither do thoughts.
