This Artwork is made out of two separate canvas (Diptych) each 200 cm x 50 cm and is hanged 20 cm from each other. The Poppen-Kunst series plays with the meaning of what means being famous, and at what cost? Is pornography popular? Yes! Is pornography still considered taboo even if it is one of the most popular phenomenon in the world? Yes! The works in this series are full of pathos, romance, feelings, and sensuality. The Extrapolated single frames of adult movies translated into these paintings might give the viewer, at first sight, the impression of looking at some colorful, abstract, almost vague pop-art-painting. Only if paying attention, you will discover their secret and exact origin: gay porn. Poppen is a vulgar german word for sexual interaction. The Word Kunst means art. Poppen-Kunst = Fuck-Art.
