‘Affluent Influence’ is predominated by resembling pearls in many opulent pastel hues, with an explosion of energy and colour, giving a spectrum and metaphoric choices. These are choices of opportunities and aspiration with exuberance, shown by the explosive effect in all directions, giving off intensity and enthusiasm as in many of my paintings. Then again, one may find the opposite of what I have just mentioned and find being drawn into the middle of the painting, as it seems to have a pull to the centre too. Well the theme after all is about having an alluring effect on many of us, hoping to better ourselves in one aspect or the other. Nevertheless, one will almost definitely find oneself moving from the centre outwards, exploring the brighter or lighter spheres. Pearls are one of the natural beauties that we have exploited to our own gain and I have got to say that they do seem to make someone who’s wearing them look rather special. Hence the influence it has on us. It helps to be affluent too to acquire them as well as also having the means to make some counting decisions. With affluence comes a freedom in that we can choose and aspire to a brighter or much better future, not necessarily for our own. Or perhaps to look forward to it at least and help to drive us on, as a quite a few are trying to do. I don’t usually like to explain or interpret my paintings so as to hear other’s opinions and weigh what the painting has done for the observer. Still, to be concise about this piece, I am trying to depict a possibility to a brighter, richer future. Not necessarily a wealthy one however. I do hope it looks optimistic to you. Best wishes!

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. His different genres of works are ongoing series which are added to from time to time, whether it is his Aviary, Abstract, Allegoric or any other style he employs. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
