A show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC of Matisse's paintings inspired a whole body of work. This painting gives thanks to Matisse and to Ronald Lauder for being a champion of art. Have painted flowers all my life and this show gave me the impetus to have fun and to show my thinking that still life is anything but still.
