Both an environmental commentary and a subtle linguistic joke, "Al Agua Pato?" is my statement about the growing shortage of safe water throughout Latin America and the world. "Al Agua Pato!", is a Spanish phrase you might use to encourage someone to jump into a swimming pool. The rubber ducky is a commonplace and playful object, but out of his usual context he takes on a different meaning, not just as a toy but as an image of what life is like when water goes missing from a landscape.

Michael Wiebach is a Mexican-German visual artist who is best known for his simultaneous combination of painting, installation art and short films. Using representational objects such as old toys, industrial junk and other obsolete gadgets, he creates elaborate installations and art objects. At the same time, these objects are often the themes rendered on many of his oil canvases. Through his work, Michael Wiebach practices a certain form of modern archeology, through which modern technology is seen from the margin of its own waste.
