In this world of images, Nature reminds us that she is the master mother: "After a storm in Corsica, Island of France (ALERIA Beach), I was amazed by the work of the sea which composed, wave after wave, a work of driftwood and various waste, in front of my eyes. It was in Nice-France in the 1980s - under the influence of pop art and comics that Thierry Corpet alias Raymond X discovered his taste for urban art. Particularly attracted by the paintings of Robert Combas and free figuration, he decided to continue his studies in art in Nice (EMAP Villa Thiole - School of cartoons Palais des Congrès). At the same time, he began to present his first works to Nice gallerists and fortuitously met the visual artist Daniel Spoerri who discovered his works and encouraged him in his graphic orientations. He chooses the pseudonym of Raymond X in order to work freely and to affix on the walls of Nice and Paris, pictorial works previously produced on kraft paper. At the end of the 80s he took part in an underground cultural event in Brittany alongside Speedy Graphito. Over the years, his emerging style of the spirit of free figuration has refined to become more personal and arrive at a Graff spirit 'bordering on abstraction. His deconstructed images with amalgamated, colored forms linked by superimposed lines are reminiscent of the interconnection that exists between things, people and places. In his studio in Corte in Corsica, he plays the crazy laboratory assistant and experiments with all kinds of graphic techniques where shapes and materials interact and overlap to lightly denounce the complex and connected world that is ours.
