Contact us.Anna Truskolaska (ANYA) is an independent contemporary painter born in 1984 in Gdańsk (Poland). She lives and creates in Liguria, Italy. She studied Art History at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and Cultural Studies with foreign languages at the University of Greenwich in London (2009). She took part in numerous exhibitions of contemporary art in and around Genoa, as well as in Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia and Warsaw. Her paintings are in private art collections in the USA, Italy, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Russia and Poland.
Since 2017, she has been co-creating the LIVE ART by Anya& Davide project, where she paints live during private and public events, together with her husband, the Italian artist Davide Canepa. Their performance, referring to abstract expressionism, is based on giving form to energy and improvisation.
Anya's paintings oscillate between magic and reality, between abstraction and representational art. Color is the most important element in them - intense, energetic colors are designed to stimulate the senses and imagination of the recipients, encourage them to travel deep into their own subconscious. The main theme of her works is the mysticism of existence - from the roots of human nature, through its duality and contradiction, to the transience of our earthly experience and the inseparable relationship of man with the cosmos.
Both in her painting and in life, the artist emphasizes the importance of individualism and finding your own way in a world full of conformism.
