About The Artwork

A series of project aimed to be a critical view on the events that happened during the 2010. Each poster deals with a different theme that shook the world in a course of one month. The news and events I picked to illustrate are unique for that period of time and will be actual in the years to come. The idea was not to select some random catastrophe or airplane crash, but to see what was happening in the period of 2010 that is relevant for the whole human race and our planet in general. A lot of media is hitting us every day and sometimes we find it hard to filtrate what is every day media, and what is of unique importance. This series is trying to capture some of the most significant moments of 2010, and some works tend to be critical, other are aiming at a positive note, some breakthrough that hasn't reach the common man, and unfortunately it never will. So I am trying to reach the general public with these poster to make them look away from mass media junk and to become aware of something on a global scale that is happening to our planet and, ultimately to human race. | February 2010 | Two huge icebergs let loose off the antarctica's coast. Throughout my projects I try to find something that will inspire the viewer and make him think about the world he lives in. Each project is heavily influenced in a specific theme of social / environmental / ecological / or just global awareness. The thought that connects my work is balanced between Visual arts and communication. Each work is organized in a way to visually maximize its potential and to transfers its idea on the viewer as a way of communication. My background as a graphic designer is a big influence on my work. The organization of informations and ideas comes as a first thing to me, and each piece I made has a clear idea involved to communicate. The major influence in my work is the rebirth of the Modernist movement. Designer and Artist that are rejecting the post-modernist thought and eclecticism in generally are grouping around the Swiss modernist thought in the late 1960, and we are trying to bring back the wisdom of our former masters in a new vigor fueled with the internet explosion of information. Now more than ever we should utilize restraint our works, choices and visual messages. Via this new Modernist revival, I project my works embedding in them various themes that should make an impact on a public view of things that slip by us in these sea of mindless unorganized information. Usually the common man today is bombarded with informations, unable to distinguish rubbish from important message. I try to bring a little order into that chaos with selecting some personal views on the world today and bringing them on canvas.
