About The Artwork

My main interest is the inclusion of the surface as part of the composition, giving the sense of continuousness to the painting; as if the limits of the surface do not determine the limits of the image at all, letting the colors own the space. I explored the blending of colors and how new colors begin to appear when these interact with each other in the surface creating a subtill chromatic harmony in the composition. In this painting I was fully inspired by Henri Matisse’s vibrant color pallete, hoping my work transmits positivity and energy to the viewer through color. I chose ceramic as a surface because its glossy surface allows the ink to run in a more uninterrupted way, giving the painting fluidity. Extra materials used: resin. Recommended installation procedures: Do not hang the painting where it will receive direct sunlight. Installation hardware not included.

Born (1993) and raised in Chile where I currently live. My painting is mainly influenced by organic/biomorphic abstraction, that is mostly based on round shapes such as those found in nature. Always creating an abstract language by constructing an organic imaginary universe that appropriates space through fluent and fortuitous shapes. Based on the superposition of layers, the transparencies that these generate, and the gradients of color; I create different depths and visual volumes that expand the perspective towards a third dimension I’m very interested in contemporary art in general, mainly painting, sculpture and installations in every form and material. As an artist, today my work is centered in the exploration, investigation and creation of new abstract languages that articulate painting with a third dimension. My main motivation is the social role that lies in my profession, being crucial in this aspect the visibility of the main current and existing universal issues, throughout methods that connect society with art; forming opinion and debate about these subjects.
