ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A powerful and evocative scene depicting an abstracted figure in a landscape. The central elongated deep blue abstract figure looms toward the viewer. The reds, blues and greens float in golden brown landscape, as if to hint at a memory and recall a ghost from the past. The painting is executed on heavy weight paper and is adhered for extra protection onto another sheet of high quality fibre paper backing. This backing has an overhang of 5 cm all around the original painting, so giving a white border. The image you see of the painting in a frame is to show a suggestion of what it might look like framed. The frame is not supplied in this purchase due to the large size and potential for damage in shipping. Therefore, this painting will come in a roll so that the buyer may have the art work framed in the way they see fit. Original art work material - Acrylic on paper Artwork dimensions - 119cm x 84cm Backing - Heavy-weight fibre paper Backing dimensions - (Artwork with border) 129cm x 94cm Shipped in a tube *Frame not included*

My interest in art started at an early age. I remember seeing books at home where I grew up in the 1970's. The books were about impressionism, surrealism and my favourite showed art from the DADA movement. In my teens I became obsessed with Andy Warhol and it was at this point that I realised making art was what I wanted to do. The Paintings you see on my Saatchi Art platform are in chronological order. The first paintings were made in 2018. They were created very precisely and accurately and are influenced by minimalist ideas. Through 2019 my work moved away from minimalist abstractions and started to veer more towards an expressionist style. Through 2020 and going into 2021, I am exploring ideas that attempt to strike a balance between a minimalist mindset and the spontaneity of an expressionist. The paintings are created using acrylic on heavyweight paper and sometimes I use charcoal, graphite and oil pastel. In the next few month I will be starting to execute my larger paintings on canvas.
