VIEW IN MY ROOM
Details - this is a hand painted, original painting. - created in North Carolina, USA - acrylic on canvas - gallery wrapped - ready to hang - signed on the back and front - UV varnished - acid-free cotton canvas triple primed - professional-grade paint - certificate of authenticity included - sides are painted warm light grey About Although having an inclination to be inspired by nature and botanicals, I certainly have departed from trying to be purely representational. I found my most true and liberated self in exploring the beauty of ambiguity. So that my art is open to interpretation, which encourages viewers to imagine, question or think. I embrace the flow of motion that comes instinctively and the layering that is systematic and careful. It's important for me to retain the spontaneous quality while having the composition premeditated. I would like to evoke the noir mood of melancholy, strength, opulence and nostalgia in my painting. At the core, I am more interested in the experiential aspects of feelings and processes. I employ several different techniques to achieve the visual effects that I like, atmospheric use of contrasting light and dark, fluid thread of colors, transparency and wispy brush marks. .... I believe that abstraction is the ultimate door to someone's very personal visual language. Hidden symbols, memories, and attitudes are woven beneath the art. It could be about innocence, heritage, nostalgia, environment, a sense of beauty, or even darkness. Every deliberate movement or mark, tension, pressure, or velocity that the artist applies to the canvas with the love of paint, a brush, or any weapon of choice and a color combination is simplified, yet a more concealed visual language is coded, composed, and expressed into a work of art. I'm interested in discovering and capturing the essence and nuances of the natural world. In my process, I let the freedom of movement to take shape—with soft curves, edges and rhythmic brushstrokes. The first flow of movement occurs intuitively, followed by the layering of different techniques and detail work to achieve textural contrast, dimension, and depth. Imagining a burst of petals that blooms and lights up at night, or seeing something as simple as the calming gradient of the colorful sky at sunset, or the surface of water that glimmers makes me wonder about the mystery of the deepest oceans, have all piqued my creative process and subliminal stimuli. At the core, I am more interested in the sensorial and experiential aspects of feelings and processes. It is a collaborative event of constructing my vision and letting go of inhibition in the pursuit of harmony. Following curiosity. embracing the unknown, and drawing out what's hidden inside into something physical really gratifies me. Working with acrylics, immediacy is an important factor in the process and it helps to retain a spontaneous quality that I love. I also enjoy dynamic line work, gradation, and a play of light and dark to give each of my works a quiet intensity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Part of sales will go towards helping neglected dogs and stray cats in my hometown. it's an issue that resonates deeply in my heart.
