About The Artwork

This large oil painting is ideally paired with another, Apocalypse 2. However they also work well hanging separately. These are dynamic, intense color paintings that look best un an un-cluttered wall. Good lighting is important as the piece shows well at night. The process of painting is similar to my other work and begins with applying paint with a hard squeege, pressing the pigment into the panel. This type of painting cannot be accomplished on canvas. After the initial painting is dried I then come back with the detail work. This painting has some paper collage which gives certain sections a prismatic appearance. A clear coat sealer is applied about two months later after all is cured. All my work is sold with a simple, hardwood frame for appearance.

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona with three brothers. I contracted polio at age three and spent nine months in an iron lung. Had a miraculous healing and then during recovery spent hours and hours with paper and pencil provided by my mother. Studied under several artists in the Phoenix Valley including on site watercolor workshops, figure drawing and sculpture. In High School won several Gold Key awards and was a cast member for the T.V. series - Indispensables (series on youth in art). University of Arizona Fine Arts department and one semester at the Florence, Italy Academy of Art. After moving to California I built an art studio on our property in San Marcos. Studied on and off with Gifford Nicholaides in California, where we formed the Pastel Society. Married to Christina Wilson, three children and now seven grandchildren. Life is good!
