About the Artist

Michael Andrew Wilson

United States

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona with three brothers. I contracted polio at age three and spent nine months in an iron lung. Had a miraculous healing and then during recovery spent hours and hours with paper and pencil provided by my mother.
Studied under several artists in the Phoenix Valley including on site watercolor workshops, figure drawing and sculpture. In High School won several Gold Key awards and was a cast member for the T.V. series - Indispensables (series on youth in art).
University of Arizona Fine Arts department and one semester at the Florence, Italy Academy of Art.
After moving to California I built an art studio on our property in San Marcos.
Studied on and off with Gifford Nicholaides in California, where we formed the Pastel Society.
Married to Christina Wilson, three children and now seven grandchildren. Life is good!
