"Aqua Vibe III" Painting

Lara Scolari is an Australian contemporary abstract expressionist artist whose original mixed media paintings are collected internationally for their energy, movement and luminous layered surfaces.

Working from her Sydney studio, she creates large-scale contemporary artworks inspired by the Australian landscape, exploring the unseen forces of nature, memory, emotion and place.

Drawing inspiration from artists including Brett Whiteley, Helen Frankenthaler, John Olsen, Hans Hofmann and Mark Rothko, Lara has developed a distinctive visual language that combines expressive mark-making with dozens of translucent layers of acrylic, ink and mixed media.
