About The Artwork

Glass matter Venice had as teachers the Byzantines from whom he learned the enamelling and gilding of the pieces, in the city, in its neighboring island of Murano he worked countless number and variety of high-foot cups with whimsical appendages, cups, jars with curls of threads white or colored, false gems, etc. using all procedures and distinguished by the finesse, elegance, lightness, variety and fantasy of its products that are today admired in many museums and collections.
GLASS is a material born of magic; Or do not you think it's magic to melt sand and get glass? As an artistic manifestation it has taken two almost simultaneous paths. One to form vessels, bottles, figures, plates, glasses, cups and, in general, any object of some fixed structure; and the other to cre-ate the wonderful world of stained glass. Unlike what is commonly believed, the two types of art are rarely made by the same person. That artist dedicated to make figures, that we will know as the glass artist, is not dedicated to making stained glass. Even the two arts are not practiced in the same geographical location. It's like the difference between the easel painter and the muralist. Thus, stained glass windows have a divided structure. Having turned this need into an artistic element by itself is what gives greatness to Gothic cathedrals. By using these armor to delineate the main ornamental subdivisions, glass painters are able to fuse a complete image and an architecture into one of the most complete artistic units.
