This is one of my first paintings of 2017. It was inspired by a photo I saw on Twitter of a George Braque painting of an artist painting a model.
I left the painting mainly translucent yellow and gold with dark purple/black lines rather than add more colors because I felt it was finished - anything more would not enhance but rather detract from the power of the painting!

Intuitive abstract paintings exploring openness, resilience, and presence. I am an abstract painter working intuitively through gesture, layering, and restraint. My paintings emerge from lived experience and a process that values presence over planning. I am interested in moments of openness — where vulnerability and strength coexist, and where something quiet but enduring remains.
