Collective soul (Ein 19),acrylic,canvas, Mykola Kuryluk's paintings can be compared to the balancing act between surface and space, color, shape and line, abstraction and object, image and writing. Individual colored surfaces are applied to the canvas with strong brush strokes and are constantly processed. I was thinking of how paintings become a record of a moment in time and a place, and my thoughts at the time of working, it both records history and what is current and changing.
