ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The self-portrait depicts me gazing from the canvas with a look of desperation, as if yearning to escape my own inner prison. My fist is raised high, forcefully attempting to break through the boundaries of reality. My face, painted in a striking green, emerges from fragmented pieces of reality, which are represented by layers of torn toilet paper glued onto the painting. The texture of the paper creates a chaotic and fractured surface, symbolizing the fragile and distorted nature of perception. The green face, surreal and almost alien, adds to the sense of tension and urgency as I struggle to transcend the confines of my own existence.

I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on December 9, 1969. In 1976, my family moved to Buenos Aires, where I studied drawing and painting, honing my skills alongside the visual artist Andrés Zerneri. I find an inexhaustible source of passion and renewal in art. I am a musician, street dancer, self-taught visual artist, and producer. My constant search for new life alternatives and aesthetics drives me to experiment, integrate, and recycle in all my works. Since 2007, I have resided in my home-studio in Cologne, Germany, which also serves as the headquarters for all my projects. My paintings are exhibited in alternative spaces, where the audience’s experience is characterized by surprise and interaction. Nightclubs, bars, gyms, and even the street itself—all spaces are valid for my exhibitions. Additionally, my home doubles as an art gallery.
